After Target we browsed Kmart...I wanted to see if they had any good Valentine's clearance, but they didn't...I did find a few good things though :o)

I was just walking by and saw these had "Try Me Free" stickers on them.  They were actually coupons stuck right to them, not rebates...so they were all 3 free!  Never know when they might come in handy I guess???  lol.  I hesitated posting this one, but hey, they were freeeeee with coupons which is the name of the game with the blog.  :o)

They had a lot of clearanced clothes and an additional 40% off of the marked price.

2 Barbie shirts - $1.79/each!!  (wish they had one in MY size, haha)
2 sets of 2 tank tops - $3.58/set

I obviously like to dress my girls nicely, and I have very picky taste, but it's entirely possible to dress your kids nicely on a BUDGET!  I rarely spend more than $5/item of clothing, no matter where I shop...Gymboree, TCP, Kmart, Target, Sears...wherever!  Every once in awhile I splurge, but they stain things, grow out of them so quickly, etc...as long as they are clean and presentable, I don't feel the need to spend a ton of money on their clothes.  Heck, I don't often spend much on my own clothes :o)

It was awesome to find these because I had just put a pairs of pajamas in my shopping cart (online) at Victoria's Secret, and then changed my mind when my total was over $100.  I just couldn't do it, lol.  I really did need some new 'jammies though, so I scooped these up.  They are nice and big and comfy (and yeah, I need XL, no shame.  I'm tall, even before I had kids I needed XL just for the *length*).  I picked up 3 pairs for $5.99 each.  Now that I could handle paying without feeling like I couldn't breathe, haha ;o)

They were originally $18.99, too :o)  And super comfy.  I'm backdating this and I can add that I totally went back in for another pair later on in the week when I was in the area again.

I didn't use any coupons on these, but they were on clearance for cheap!!  Except for the popcorn, that was a splurge, lol.

The Keebler cookie bites were $1, the Quaker Mini Delights were .75/box!!  The popcorn was $2.  I don't know what I was thinking buying popcorn for $2...  mini bags at that, lol.  ;o)

My Glade candle insanity.... I did 8 transactions for those, LOL.  I used a $3/2 mfr coupon on the first two as well as a $1/2 Kmart coupon, and used a $5 gift card I had, so they were "free,"  and then they kept spitting out a $3 coupon every time you bought two, so I kept rolling it, and using the Kmart coupon, to get two candles for right about $1.  Why yes, I am backdating again, how could you tell? ;o)  Finally I got bored doing so many transactions and rolled the last $3 into 3 of the scented oil refill packs, used 3 $1.50 coupons and 1 $1/2 Kmart coupon on those and they were free.

That wrapping paper was marked down to .39/single roll and .79/4-pack!  The bows were .49, and the reed diffuser was $1.xx, it was all 70-90% off.

October 9, 2009

My poor husband, we had the opportunity for a date night...and what did we do? Well, he had no better suggestions! :o) We were going to go to a movie but when you haven't been to the movies in over a year, welllll over a year, you want to see something GOOD...and nothing was meeting my standards at least, so we opted to go another time. We did have a nice quiet dinner though, and as usual the kids had a blast at grandma's and didn't even notice we were gone.

CVS:

  • 2 Tylenol Cold - $6/ea. Used $3/2 coupon.
  • 2 Children's Tylenol - $6/ea. Used $3/2 coupon.
  • 1 Colgate 360 toothbrush - $2.99, used a $1 coupon
  • 1 Revlon nail polish - $3.99, used a $1 coupon
  • 2 M&Ms - .89 for both (they were B1G1)

I used a $2.50 off $10 in pain relievers store coupon, and a $5 off $30 store coupon, and $14 in ECBs. I paid $2.37 out of my own pocket. I earned $3 for the nail polish, $2 for the toothbrush, and $10 for the Tylenol products, so I at least got back $1 more in ECBs than I spent.

The Tylenol was an awesome deal since I was paying with (mostly) ECBs... $24 - $6 in coupons - $2.50 store coupon - $5 store coupon = $10.50...and I got back a $10 ECB, so since I paid with ECBs it really only cost me .50, for all four! Awesome. The toothbrush and the nailpolish were completely free, so really I only paid for the M&Ms and .50 + tax for the Tylenol. I would have had to pay less but I handed over my ECBs in the wrong order and the last I had was for $4, not worth it to have it adjusted down. Whaaaatever, haha :o)

Rite Aid:

I had a $5 off $20 store coupon and a $5 off $20 in My Little Pony merchandise coupon, so I wanted to see if they even carried them in there. I ended up grabbing the last 2 ponies they had on the shelf at $8.99 each (Ugh! That's so expensive!) and then I saw a coloring book priced at $2.99. That brought my total to $20.97, used both $5 coupons that took it down to $10.97, and I had a gift card that had $8.84 left on it, so I used that. Paid $2.79 for the lot...I only went ahead with this one since I had $10 off in coupons and a gift card to use up. I am nearly done Christmas shopping ;o)

Kmart:

Three separate transactions...
  • 1 Glade candle - $2.50. Used a $2 store coupon...paid .65
  • 1 Disney Princess doll - $5.49. Used a $2 store coupon...paid $3.82 (they cost $3.99 at Toys R Us, so this was just a bit less, and what I paid does include the tax)
  • 1 Disney Princess doll - $5.49. Used a $5 store coupon, and paid .52!

So basically, I paid $4.99 for everything there, and that's less than one of the dolls there so not bad. I put the dolls away for Christmas.

July 11, 2009

Kmart toy clearance again... I think I'm done for now! LOL... I really spent WAY more than I'd planned to this past week with all the toys, but when you figure how much of a dent on Christmas/birthdays it has done, it's not so bad.

4 Disney Princess dolls, 2.50 each, down from 9.99
Cinderella board game, 4.50, originally 17.99
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse play set, 16.50... was originally 43.99...so the sticker on it says, lol
Bathing Suit baby doll, 2.50 (down from 10)
Little Einsteins Rocket playset, xx... down from $43.99 ;P
found another Princess arts & crafts backpack, 2.50 (clearanced at $5)
Glade candle tin, .29
4 Dove deodorants, free
Listerine Strips Pocketpack, free

Used the $5/20 coupon for each transaction (did 2), paid about $38 for everything...receipt is in my wallet...

Ran in to Walgreens to use a RR that was expiring... 3 Listerines at $3 each. Used 3 $2 coupons. Grabbed the highlighter as a filler (.14) and was intending to just pay .14 + tax on all after using the $3 RR I had... buuuut I am a sucker and bought a PayDay because the cashier (my favorite one) would get credit for it :o) I should have told her to take the highlighter off since I didn't need it then, but oh well. Total was $1.38 and I got another $3 RR.

Went to CVS to do the Febreeze deal, but they didn't have the Noticeables so I couldn't... oh well. I had a $4 ECB that was expiring the next day I knew I wouldn't be able to use, so I browsed around and ended up grabbing this puzzle to tuck away with the Christmas stash, total after ECB, $0.00...

Kmart again! lol... when I was there doing the doubles and saw the toy clearance, I noticed they had Little Tikes Cozy Coupes on clearance for $56 (originally $74.99)...which meant they would ring up $28, and I could use the $5 off $20 coupon making them only $23 (saving $103.98)!! I'd been wanting to get one for the girls, but I really couldn't pass up getting two at that price... yes, they are spoiled!! But on the other hand, it "should" make it a lot more peaceful for me not trying to get one out of the thing to let the other have a turn, LOL.

July 10, 2009

Kmart was (may still be?) having a clearance event in addition to the double coupons... take an additional 50% off the lowest clearance price on toys...as well as a $5 off $20 in toys coupon out! I started Christmas shopping early (as well as a few things for birthdays coming up and just to tuck away in the gift closet). I tried to keep my purchases in groups of $20 to make use of the coupon. Could have done better on one transaction, but I didn't have time to shop for another "set."

4 Dove deodorants, free after coupon doubles

2 Snow White dolls, $3 each (originally $11.49!)

1 Little Einstein's play set $x (down from $16.99)

Play Doh 50 colors play set, $5.50...but sign on the shelf said $8.80, so I could take my reciept in and get $1.10 back if the sign is still there... down from $12.99

Disney Princess arts & crafts backpack, $2.50 (clearanced to $5...no idea on original price)

3 Cinderella games, $1.50 (down from $11.49!!)

2 Dora notebooks, $1 each (orignally $3.99)

Disney crayon/art set, $1.50 (originally $5.99)

Carebears, $6.50 each (I don't know what they were, but clearance price was $13 before the sale)

Dora travel art set, $2.50 (don't know this one's original price, but, clearanced to $5 before sale)

3 Barbie Tinkerbell dress up slippers, $1 each (clearance was $2, but again, don't know the orig price on these)

This was 2 transactions, one for $17.97, and another for $19.08! Total on all of that then was $37.05... Going by original and clearance for the ones I don't know the original price of, that's a savings of $108.90 just counting the toys!! $118.24 if you add in the free Dove. I can live with that :o)
