Grocery shopping trip... again, I FORGET MOST EVERYTHING. Someone really needs to get on me to post regularly, LOL. Obviously I took the picture because they were good deals, but how good? lol

If I recall correctly --

Mr Clean Magic Erasers were .45/box
Cookie Crisp cereal was .90/box
Green Giant boxes veggies (LOVE the rice w/ peas and mushrooms) - free to .50/box, a mix of both price ranges.
I think the Ronzoni was $1/box.
I know the yogurt was $1.

This was also in the same trip, used a $1 catalina to get bleach for just .33!

I went grocery shopping today for the first time in awhile (aside from quick run ins for milk/produce/the odd sale item). Filled TWO carts! I forgot my card so I had to wait in the store while my mom ran back to my house to get it... so by the time I was actually finished checking out, it was nearing time for our visit with the in-laws and I had to get everything inside and put away, the freezer stuff had to be put away quick... no time for pictures today. I'm a visual person so I know that sucks, lol. Sorry! :P

A few of the good purchases were:

  • 2 - 25lb bags of Tidy Cat litter, b1g1 (used a raincheck) - $4.29, used two $1 coupons... two for $2.29!

  • LOTS of Green Giant boxed veggies, they were $1/each, and I used several .55 off 1 coupons (doubled to $1.10), and several $1 off 2 coupons. So, free plus .05 overage to .50/box!

  • Totinos Pizza Rolls were $1/box, and I had some .55/2 (doubled to $1.10) and $1/2 coupons...no more than .50/box

  • 4 - Welch's Grape Jelly in the squeeze bottles, $1.50 each and used .75 coupons that doubled to make them free.

  • Bunches of Del Monte canned vegetables...they were on sale 4/$3, and if you bought $20 worth you got a $5 coupon for your next order...not a bad deal. I prefer frozen veggies, but husband prefers canned.

  • Picked up some PowerAde for the husband, 15 for $10, just .66 each.

  • Used a few .50 coupons for Dole fruit that doubled, and got .05 overage on each can.
  • Crayola Gum 2-packs of toothbrushes were on sale for $1, I got 3, and used a .75 coupon on each, so free and got .50 overage on each... the Crayola Gum flosser packs were $1 too, I got 3 of those and used .55 coupons, free plus .10 overage on each of those.

  • Did the General Mills catalina deal twice, so I got two $10 off your next order coupons (did two transactions)...and also got several $1 off your next order coupons, but I have no idea what triggered them.

Obviously, I purchased a LOT more...fresh fruits and veggies, lunch meats, soups, cheeses, yogurt, etc, etc... Two carts FULL for $226.64....252 items, my receipt says... that's roughly .90 per item if you like to figure things that way, which I don't think is bad at all. I saved just over $220!

And I got back in Catalinas: two $10, $5, five $1's, and a .75! That's $30.75 in catalinas to use again.

I went back in though and got a pack of diapers and 2 packs of Kotex pads, used a $3 coupon on the diapers, two $1 coupons on the Kotex, and the $5, four $1, and the .75 catalinas...paid 22 cents for that order, and got back a $2 catalina for spending over $12... so I still have $23 in catalinas.

Ran in to the grocery store to get milk today and saw a few items I had rainchecks for in stock.

I picked up these Perdue Flavor Bites for $2.99, and used a $2 coupon...so I paid .99 for them, and I will get back $2.99 in a rebate! Free plus a profit :o)

Also got 6 bottles of Glass Plus, for .57 TOTAL!! They were $2.19..I used a raincheck to make them buy 1 get 1 free. Used a $1 coupon on each bottle. Great deal!

Ran in to Weis quickly for a few things picked these up. They were on sale 4 for $4. I had four coupons, for .40 each, so they doubled to .80, so I ended up paying .20 a box! Not only that, but a $2.50 coupon printed out for buying 4 boxes!! Kind of like getting a profit of $1.70. Can't beat that :o)

All FREE after coupons!!!

Actually, the Ortega seasoning was .04 a packet, BUT, the Jenni-O ground turkey, was $1.92 and I had a $5 coupon, so I got overage...making everything you see FREE.

Sweet :o)

Todays trip to the grocery store...

12 boxes of Hamburger/Tuna Helper, after coupons they were .49/box. I *hate* this stuff, lol...I obviously don't eat it, but I don't even like to cook it. Husband likes it though, so I stock up when it's on sale and I have coupons... it will probably be 6 months to a year before I buy it again.

2 cans of Hunt pasta sauce, $1 each.

2 Softsoap hand soaps, $1 each. $1 coupons for each, free.

2 Sparkle paper towel rolls, $1 each

2 Angel Soft 4 packs, $1 each... I had two $2 off any Angel Soft and Sparkle coupons, so all the paper towels and the toilet tissue were free.

2 Rubbermaid TakeAlongs (2 in each)... $1. Used $1 coupons on each, free.

1 Hamburger rolls (12ct), $1

1 Hotdog rolls (12ct), $1

6 Knorr sides, $1 each. Used 2 .45 coupons, each doubled. So all in all, .70 each.

2 Chef Boyardee, $1 each. $1 coupons. Free.

1 Ecotrin, full size 80ct pharmacy sample! Free.

2 Cheeze-Its, $2.50 each, used .75 coupons, doubled. $1/box after coupons.

1 YoPlait YoPlus yogurt 4-pack, $1 after coupon.

7 YoPlait yogurts, .50 each, used a .40/6 coupon (doubled) and a free coupon (cashier took off .75)... .21/each.

DiGiorno flatbread melt, $3...used free item coupon.

Total spent, $17.86!! 45 items. Total savings (coupons and store card) = $57.83!!

Weekly grocery trip... $45.87. Husband approved...but all we really needed was produce and I think I spent too much.

Highlights, found more Pull Ups on clearance... $5.49, 3 packs, used two $3 coupons and one $2.

Land o Lakes butter, 5 for .57 each.

Miniwheats, .50/box

I had a coupon for 2 free Velveeta cups, and a b1g1, so I paid $1 for 4.

Rinaldi pasta sauce, .75/each

Pop Secret popcorn, .80/box.

Land o Lakes deli cheese, .99 for a half pound (got 2 half lbs, used 2 $1 coupons).

Wicker basket, clearance for 3.99 (down from 9.99...but it'll be great in Ava's closet for toys).

June 18, 2009

My weekly grocery trip, spent $53.64...saved? $80.54. I do feel I could have done better. Also, keep in mind, I stockpile, so this is NOT all my family eats for the week and much of this won't even be consumed this week.

Notice there are no meats or frozen vegetables, I already have plenty in my freezer and didn't see any good bargains on them this week so I opted not to buy any. That's why I love stockpiling, if there isn't a good sale on something we normally use, I don't NEED to buy it. (and I promise there are fresh vegetables and fruit behind the milk, haha)

Some coupon highlights from this trip

  • 8 bags of Chex Mix, 3.36 TOTAL, and it would have been 2.36 but 2 of my coupons didn't double because the cashier put them in manually and didn't scan them. Oh well, that's still .42/bag :o) These were buy 1 get one free, and I could use a coupon on each item. I had several .50 coupons (2 doubled to $1), and a couple $1/2 coupons from the paper. Using two doubled to $1 coupons on 2 bags, made it 2 for .09, and using the two undoubled made 2 bags for 1.09, and using the two $1/2 coupons made 4 bags for $2.18.
  • Coffee-mate, free after a coupon. (I emailed them and complimented their product)
  • Cream cheese, .79 after coupon ($1 coupon from a magazine)
  • Wipes, $1 after coupon (.75 from a home mailer, doubled)
  • Eggs, free after store coupon
  • Land O Lakes butter, .57 each (.55 coupons from the paper, they doubled)
  • Aquafresh toothpaste, free and .50 overage (they paid me to buy it!) (.75 coupon)
  • Gillette body wash AND shampoo, free! (used $1 coupons from the paper on each, store had a $5 off promotion if you bought 2)
  • Reese's Puffs (my husbands addiction), .90/box (.55 coupons, doubled)
  • Turkey Hill diet green tea (also the husbands), .30/each (.35 coupons from emailing them, doubled)
  • Good Life Recipe cat food, $1.49 after coupon ($3 coupon)
  • Digiorno Flatbread melts, 8 for $5 after coupons, and I will get $3 back in a rebate! That's .63 each if you don't count the rebate, .25 each if you do! Can't beat that for quick lunches for hubby to take to work if he needs something. I had a raincheck, so they were $2 each, and I had a variety of coupons, including a free one, a $1.50, and a few others I can't find online right now.
  • Ellio's pizza, $5 for all 4 (2/$5, used 2 b1g1 coupons)
  • Ice cream - 1.50, used a $1 store coupon
  • Activia yogurt, .50 (used a $1 coupon from the paper, and a $1.50 store coupon)
  • Scott toilet tissue, .49 (used a $1 coupon from the paper, and a $2 store coupon)
  • Cascade Rinse Agent, free (home mailer)
